Nomsa started playing music in 1997 when she joined Jacaya, a community performance group in Soweto. There she developed a love for acting and performance, a passion that is evident on stage. The actress learnt to play the djembe drum, and honed her skills as a dancer and singer during the years she spent with the group. In 2000, she performed at the Market Theatre in Umhlangano. In 2004 she joined Basadi Le Meropa, and has traveled all over the world with the group.
